Shading as a service

Our technology answers multiple challenges into modern glass building. By repurposing hundreds of unused square meters façades, we address ecological, informational, financial matters with the same solution.

This is how it works

VideowindoW is a modular product, so for every situation, a ‘fit-for-purpose’ solution can be designed. VideowindoW is pre-assembled which enables for quick installation on the final location (either newly built or as a retrofit solution to existing glass panels).

Each module is equipped with a light sensor, and it uses advanced algorithms to incorporate real-time data from exterior luminescence and temperature. This is key to VideowindoW’s ability to show moving content while realizing glare control. The viewers will experience interior luminescence as stable, comforting and entertaining.

Transparent displays
with glare control

VideowindoW turns any glass façade into a transparent media screen that also contributes to climate control.

Highest grade specifications

VideowindoW’s thermal insulation qualities compare favorably to those of regular insulation glass / HR+ glass. Through continuous improvement we keep optimizing VideowindoW’s performance.

As sunlight travels through glass its thermal energy is reflected, absorbed or transmitted. Greater transmission results from more transparency which in turn leads to higher temperatures inside a building, unless active climate control exists. Reduction of transmission is feasible by applying foils or e-coating, but will inevitably result in higher absorption. This may cause the temperature of the glass itself to rise and through convection and radiation lead to an increase in interior temperatures. Exterior mechanical blinds or shutters will reflect most of the thermal energy and keep interior temperatures at bay but hinders or even blocks the exterior view and moreover the glass façade remains unprofitable.

Video content doubles as glare control

Saves energy with glare control

VideowindoW embraces natural light instead of blocking it, and as a result, VideowindoW can lower energy use for interior lighting and climate control up to 30%.

Increases comfort

Glass allows for natural light to enter buildings and protects against weather conditions. Unlike conventional glare control solutions, VideowindoW is a dynamic and transparent glare control that enhances comfort and well-being in public spaces.

Monetises screen content

The communicative function offers architects and designers new narrative applications for glass façades. By showing commercial content, VideowindoW transforms glass from a cost to a profit driver

Thermal insulation and glare control

VideowindoW consists of modular components between double glass. As these components dynamically lower their transparency to create glare control, their temperature will increase as more thermal energy is absorbed. By bonding our components to the exterior glass layer, this thermal energy is however largely dissipated into the exterior airflow.

On the inner glass layer, e-coating may be applied. Being fully integrated within double (or even triple) glass, VideowindoW ensures thermal insulation in addition to glare control. In colder climates or seasons, VideowindoW can reduce its thermal absorption to let the sun warm up the interior, thus reducing costs for climate control.
